It's Time to Ignite Change!

My name is Ember Reichgott Junge, and I am running for the Fifth District Congressional seat.

About me

Some of you may know me from when I served in the Minnesota State Senate as the Assistant Majority Leader and Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. You also may know me as a voice for all things Democratic on the television and radio airwaves and as host of the radio show "Women on the Move," which you can listen to online.

For those of you hearing my name for the first time, here's a simple way to recall my name: Remember Ember in November!

What I stand for

I am running for Congress because I want to be PROUD to be an American again. We must have the courage to break the silence on the issues that most affect us:

  • Bringing our troops home safely from Iraq
  • Restoring U.S. credibility around the world
  • Strengthening human rights, not undermining them
  • Providing universal health care
  • Investing in education from birth to beyond high school
  • Access to good-paying jobs

Republicans have replaced a silent agenda with a divisive agenda. I want to change that!

My experience

I’ve committed my life to the democratic agenda. I also have unparalleled experience in this race, including:

  • 18 years of solid results in the Minnesota State Senate
  • 5 years on the television and radio airwaves, pushing the issues that matter most and speaking out against the barriers that hold people back.

My accomplishments

As a state senator, I fought for basic rights that some still want to take away. I worked to:

  • Strengthen human rights by working with Rep. Karen Clark and others to strengthen the Human Rights Act. Human rights are not negotiable…here in the U.S. or anywhere around the world.
  • Protect families from violence, because sometimes being safe and secure means safety right in the next room.
  • Ensure the right to die with dignity. In the toughest fight I led at the legislature, we overcame the religious right to allow Minnesotans to write living wills. We fought back those who wanted to legislate your health care decisions. It's an issue that will not go away in Congress. And I will not be silent!

My name is Ember Reichgott Junge and together we will ignite a compassionate change for the people of the 5th District!
